aint nothing like the real thing.

This year, I wanted to make our tiny apartment a winter wonderland. We don't have much room to decorate without it becoming overwhelming, but I'm definitely satisfied with what we've put up.

Our little tree, about five feet of sheer greeny cuteness, was found at a local grocery store for about $18. Our paper ornaments, from our very first christmas tree have survived three years now. Other decorations include tiny found pinecones strung on twine, owl ornaments gifted from all different friends and family, mini candy canes and mushroom birds from the dollar store along with some random collected scandinavian ikea knick-knacks.

Our stockings are from the dollar store, we just painted our initials (ruby did hers too!) on with gold stencil paint.

I had a bunch of oversized, leftover pine cones, so I put them in one of my favorite pretty bowls with some ornaments and birdies and made a happy little nest of sorts. I really can't describe how happy I am every time I open my front door. You'd never guess this is my least favorite holiday.

Mmmmm, smell that fir-y goodness!
