This might not be about gardening.

My first (all by myself grown up big girl) garden was a success this year!  Not because I was stuffed with a bounty of homegrown goodies and overwhelmed by delicious, healthy vegetables every week.  But because it was one of my goals for this summer and I nailed it!  Allow me to celebrate myself.

I planted tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, beans and a starter herb garden.  My basil died (damn brown beetles!), my zucchini flowered but never grew fruit, blueberries bloomed a handful, my cucumbers were mini at best, my beans didn't get enough support and rotted on the ground... but my TOMATOES!  They basically took over the garden, grew to outrageous heights and gave me the yummiest, ugliest little beauties i can remember tasting since my grandmother's garden of my youth.  Lesson learned: next year the tomatoes stay in pots, the beans get a trellis and the basil comes inside at night.

Are you catching my drift?  Celebrate your tomatoes, dudes.  Don't sweat the squash.
