Pickin' winners.

Being from upstate NY, the fall has a certain amount of rituals for me.  Hayrides, corn mazes, cider drinking and my favorite: apple picking.  Even though we have plenty of happy little farms here on long island, I really prefer to go home to get my favorites.

Fishkill Farms is an almost hundred year old operation in the hudson valley, with over ten varieties of the snappy happy fruit, all of which you can pick yourself, even with organic options.  We made our way home with a big sack of several varieties (who knew golden delicious actually lived up to its name?), a couple perfect little pumpkins and some scrumptious looking squash not to mention a belly full of "samples".  Sorry, guys!
