Oh you know I didn't forget about burgers.

Happy Wednesday!

Has anyone seen this show? It's pretty awesome. Not only do I find the host totally dreamy (sorry, babe!) but I am not-so-secretly envious of his job. Who wouldn't want to tour the country eating large amounts of food. Not only does he eat them, but there's no guilt attached! He's encouraged, even praised for it! Genius. God bless America.

Anyway, we were sucked into a marathon last weekend at our in-laws house during the rainy day and one episode in particular seemed to stick with my husband. That would be the one featuring the "juicy lucy". What is this? Well, you see, it's a midwestern treat featuring two burger patties sandwiched around a lump of cheese. The sandwich creating a gooey oozey effect once you bite into the burger. Yeah, he just about fainted at the idea of this.

Last week I attempted to make a "healthy" version of this with turkey meat and goat cheese. It was good, but really the effect was lost. There was no ooze, no goo. Consider this my recompense.

Ooey-Gooey Juicy Lucy's

1 1/2 lbs lean grass-fed organic beef
1 tblspoon worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
4 slices of your favorite cheese
4 hamburger buns, toasted

1. Mix first five ingredients in a large bowl, don't over mix just combine. Make into eight thinish burger patties.
2. Take the cheese and fold over each slice until it's in a neat little square. Place in the middle of one patty and place the beefy top on. Seal the edges and just pack it into a nice, compact shape. Do this for four burgers total, stash in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes.
3. Heat your grill and place burgers on about 3-4 minutes per side, depending on your preference.
4. Serve; commence goo.

Now, obviously these do look delicious. I did not partake, but how bad is a grass-fed burger, ever? Delicious. Especially with "special sauce", aka vegenaise, ketchup, relish and mustard. Love a condiment!
